Opening Night Backstage Fundraising Dinner
Enhance your opening night experience and support the AAFF by attending the third annual backstage fundraising dinner. Filmmaking Pioneer Bruce Baillie in Attendance for 50th
We are proud to announce a special appearance by renowned avant-garde filmmaker Bruce Baillie at the 50th festival. Baillie will be one of our honored guest returning to Ann Arbor to present three programs of his work as part of our 50th celebration.
In 1963 Baillie’s worked screened with a partial retrospective during the first year of a festival. A pioneer of the American avant-garde film movement, Baillie will discuss his work and his influence on film culture with the AAFF audience.
The 82 year-old is most well known as the founder of Canyon Cinema distribution and co-creator of the San Francisco Cinematheque, an acclaimed series of experimental film, digital media, and performance cinema that continues to this day.
