Celtic musician, Carlos Núñez, will be performing at The Ark on Tuesday, February 11th, 2014. Hailing from Galicia in northern Spain, Núñez is a master of the gaita, otherwise know as the Galician bagpipes. The gaita is believed to be the instrument from which the Scottish and Irish bagpipes descended. Núñez is not only well versed in the gaita but can play a wide array of wind instruments ranging from the penny whistle to the ocarina. Carlos is often referred to as “the Seventh Chieftain” and has been featured on several of their albums.
The show starts at 8pm. Tickets are $20 and can be ordered online or in person at The Ark’s box office.
